From My Heart -- Faith

My words about faith are, knowledge is power when you determine to achieve what you plan to do. When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Being a mailman I have had to develop faith in myself that I will be able to deliver the mail correctly. I thank God for both my brain and my sight, to help me accomplish this. I am also thankful for my hearing aids to help me be safe so that I can hear distractions while delivering or driving.

Faith is another principle of feeling good about yourself, known as
"self-esteem."  It's very important to our soul and mind and helps give us the best medicine to stay healthy.

I am talking about feeling good about yourself--to tell you the facts that deaf people can do anything but hear. We need to stay humble with faith in ourselves. We need to know that we are capable of doing whatever we set our minds to do.

In the Bible, it also states that "Faith without works is dead." Every  activity we plan should be with faith. So, anything worth doing is worth doing well. Be happy with careful planning in faith. It is like a rope you patiently climb with one hand over the other. Be positive with life. Also, have faith in keeping the commandments of God. If we do with great faith, we will be happier. It is the result of being obedient.

My wife bought me the video of "Shirley Temple." I describe this character as someone being positive with herself. The attitude in every day living is very important. Let's be like Shirley Temple, because she is positive, confident with herself, and has strong determined faith.

I have a good thought for you! Be not faithless, but believing in your  capacity as human beings (people you and me), so that we can go forth to serve and make a contribution (share your time, yourself positively) to the society (people with poor attitude) of which you will become a part. Look up and go forward in life.

I had faith to search for a job that I would love, and now I have served almost 18 years for the post office as a mailman. I, with faith, wanted to be able to speak with my voice in a hearing world. I didn't surrender. If I can do it, you can do it, too. See how faith works?

You can do whatever you want to do.

Be wise

Sincerely, Tom Osmond
