 Merry Christmas

I want the world to know that my prayers are with them and to wish them "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2002."

As you know, we are living in hard times as a result of the wars. What many realize is that spending lavish amounts on gifts and entertainment bears little resemblance to the message brought by Jesus Christ. Certainly gift-giving will always be a part of Christmas, but this year, especially, and maybe not since the years of the world wars, the giving of gifts will be more on the personal; acts of kindness or true Christmas service of others. Perhaps, the most meaningful of all, finding ways to honor the Savior, whose birth we celebrate at this season, by following his example.

Here's a thought I'd like to share with you. "The beloved apostles noted
well His example. He lived not to be ministered to, but to minister, not to receive, but to give; not to save His life, but to pour it out for others."
This example is the true meaning of Christmas, as it was throughout our Saviors life. Lets be good to one another and to lose ourselves in helping those around us.

At this holiday season, we need to continue giving the gifts of one-self to another.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to "YOU" and a Happy New Year.

Your Friend,

Tom Osmond
